Valentine’s Day may be in the rear-view mirror, but it’s never a bad time to show some love to small businesses. According to Forbes, there are currently 33.2 million small businesses across America, and 99.9% of all businesses across the U.S. are small businesses – which means there are plenty of businesses all around you that could use your support!

At Neighborhood Community Development Fund, we’re passionate about helping minority- and women-owned businesses thrive. We’ve been fortunate to work with a wide variety of small businesses throughout Allegheny County – here are just a few you can support today:

  • M&A Tax: Founded by Antoinette Payne, M&A Tax provides a space for Northside residents to have their financial questions answered and their voices heard – not only during tax season, but throughout the year.
  • Premier Energy Network: Gordon Manker started Premier Energy Network in 2021 to help restaurants, convenience stores and more identify where their energy is being used, helping these small businesses keep their bills low.
  • Wigenton Candle Co.: Owner Stephanie Wigenton and her husband custom blend all their own scented candles with non-toxic fragrances and run a seasonal line from their new storefront in Monroeville.
  • Ida’s Sandwich Shop: A welcome addition to the Observatory Hill neighborhood, Ida’s serves up delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches six days a week. It’s also a great spot for community members to connect and get a real hometown feel.

We encourage you to stop by a small business today – you’ll never know what you’ll find!
